New rules for traveling to Zanzibar

Starting October 1, 2024, entry to Zanzibar requires local insurance at a cost of $44 per adult, 50% discount for children, free for children under 2 years old. Without it, they will not be allowed to cross the border.
You can take out insurance in two ways:
— Early on the official website, but payment is possible only with a foreign card.
- Directly at the airport for cash.
The insurance is valid for 92 days.
💡Important: even if you already have international insurance, a local policy is still mandatory.
This should be taken into account when planning a trip to Zanzibar to avoid unforeseen situations.
