One of the best options in Madeira

Periodically, I take groups of tourists to Madeira, and this time the choice of accommodation was simply, as they say, "in the heart".

The Pestana Carlton Madeira Hotel has many advantages that make it a winning option compared to others.
First of all, this is one of the few hotels in Madeira that has access to safe swimming in the ocean: the beach area has an area with breakwaters and steps into the ocean. And for those who still do not risk swimming in the ocean (or the weather is not favorable), there is a pool with ocean water right on the beach itself.
Secondly, the hotel is very conveniently located for walking and exploring the island. 10 minutes on foot to the port, 20 minutes to the Old Town (where there is a farmer's market, funicular, Santa Maria pedestrian street), and a public transport and taxi stop right next to the hotel. Also, just 5 meters away, there are quality cafes, restaurants, a bar (which the locals love), as well as several inexpensive supermarkets.
The undoubted advantage of the hotel is the choice of room categories: you can choose both a room with a view of the city and rooms with an ocean view. I personally highly recommend the pool view category - these rooms will have a view of the territory of the hotel with a pool and a side view of the ocean, and if you get a room on the 1st floor, then you will be able to go directly to the pool from the terrace.
Breakfasts are varied, there are several types of high-quality cheeses, avocados, salmon, a large selection of fruits (including passion fruit, papaya, pineapple) and delicious pastries. What I personally lacked was the choice of vegetables, there weren't many of them.
The service is friendly, cleaning is done daily and of high quality, beach towels are in the rooms. There are also bathrobes and slippers for guests' comfort.
On the territory of the hotel there is an "Atlantic bar", which organizes quality themed dinners every day, information about which is published in the elevator, near the breakfast restaurant, and also on the territory near the pool. we managed to find paella lunch, mexican lunch, portuguese snacks by the pool. This is all for an additional fee, but it is not too high.
In general, I strongly recommend this hotel for your comfortable stay in Madeira.
